मैं रावण…जिसे तुम जलाने के लिए उत्सव मनाते हो, क्या उसके भक्त स्वरूप को जानते हो? शायद जानते होते तो मेरा पुतला जलाने के बजाय अपने मन में भक्ति का दीप जलाते। मेरी जिनेन्द्र भक्ति सदा सच्ची थी, तभी तो मैं तीर्थंकर प्रकृति के बन्ध को प्राप्त कर सका। पता है जब मैं जिनेन्द्र भगवान की पूजा-अर्चना और स्तुति करता तो देवगण भी प्रसन्न हो जाया करते थे। भक्ति में मैं इतना डूब जाता था कि खुद को भूल जाता। उस समय केवल और केवल प्रभु आराधना ही मेरे मन, वचन और काय का परिचय होती। आपको जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि मेरी अकाट्य शक्ति और विद्याएं, अनन्य सिद्धियां सब जिनेन्द्र आराधना का ही फल हैं। जिनेन्द्र आराधान से कर्मों की निर्जरा होती है और हर मांगलिक कार्य निर्विघ्न संपन्न हो जाते हैं। जिनेन्द्र आराधना तो मेरे वंश के संस्कार थे। मैं जब दिग्विजय के लिए निकलता था तो जिनेन्द्र प्रतिमा साथ लेकर निकलता था। आपको पता ही है कि मैं भीमवन में साधना करने गया था, उस समय मैंने अपनी साधना से प्राप्त विद्या के बल पर स्वयंप्रभ नगर की रचना करने से पहले एक जिनमन्दिर बनाया।

उसके बाद नगरी की अन्य रचना प्रारम्भ की थी। मैंने कैलाश पर्वत पर मुनिराज बाली की स्तुति की थी, उसके बाद मैंने उसी कैलाश पर्वत पर बने जिनमन्दिरों में एक माह तक भगवान की भक्ति- स्तुति की। तब मैं भक्ति में इतना लीन हो गया कि मुझे अपनी देह का बोध भी नहीं रहा और मैं अपने हाथों की नाड़ी रूपी तंत्री को खींचकर वीणा वादन करते हुए आराधना करने लगा, स्तुति मैं जिनराज के गुणगान करता रहा। मुझे याद है- मैंने जो स्तुति की, उसके भाव थे- भगवान आपकी भक्ति ही स्वर्ग और मोक्ष देने वाली है, जन्म-मरण का नाश करने वाली है। आपकी भक्ति से संसार के सारे दु:ख दूर हो जाते है, तुम ही सुख, दु:ख के समय एक समान रहने वाले मेरे परम मित्र हो। मैं अत्यंत मगन हो स्तुति कर रहा था तब नागराज धरणेन्द्र का आसन कम्पायमान हो गया। धरणेन्द्र कैलाश पर्वत पर देखने आए कि कौन है जिसकी भक्ति के स्वर से मेरा आसन कम्पायमान हो रहा है।

मुझे देख उन्होंने कहा, तुमने जो जिनेन्द्र देव का बखान किया है, उससे मैं प्रसन्न हुआ।बताओ- तुम्हें क्या वरदान चाहिए। मैंने उनसे तब कहा कि हे! धरणेन्द्र देव, आप ही बताओ कि इस संसार में जिन भक्ति से उत्तम और क्या हो सकता है? जब इससे मूल्यवान कुछ नहीं तो आप मुझे क्या दे सकेंगे। तब नागराज ने मुझसे कहा कि दशानन, तुम महाविनयवान हो, वीर्यवान हो हम दोनों भक्ति के निमित्त मिले हैं। इस भेंट के स्मरण स्वरूप मैं तुम्हें अमोघविजया शक्ति प्रदान करता हूं। इस विद्या से आप मनचाहा रूप लेने में समर्थ हो जाओगे। मेरा स्नेह स्वीकार करो, इस विद्या को लेने से इंकार मत करो। तब उनका मान रखने के लिए मैंने विद्या ग्रहण की। मैं तो इस तरह पूर्ण समर्पण, सच्ची श्रद्धा और बिना चाहना के भक्ति करता था, बोलो क्या आप भी ऐसा भक्ति कर सकते हो! पहले अपने अन्दर जिनेन्द्र भक्ति की ज्वाला को इतना प्रबल करो कि उसके प्रकाश को देखने देवगण आएं और प्रसन्न हो मंत्रमुग्ध हो जाएं, जिसके फलस्वरूप आप भी कर्मों की निर्झरा कर मोक्षलक्ष्मी पाने के अधिकारी बन सको। क्यों बिना बात मुझे जलाकर अपने अंतस में कुसंस्कारों का बीजारोपण कर रहे हो। अपने अंतस में भक्ति का दीप जलाओ और कर्मनिर्झरा की भावना भाकर सुसंस्कारों का बीजारोपण करो।

I am Ravana…for burning whom you celebrate a festival. Do you know my devotional aspects? If you did, then instead of burning my effigy you would have ignited the lamp of devotion in your hearts. I was always faithfully devoted to Lord Jinendra, which is why I became worthy of attaining the position of Tirthankara. Even the Devagana (gods) used to be pleased when I would worship and venerate Lord Jinendra. I used to be so engrossed in worship that I would lose myself and prayer would be the only identity of my mind, speech and body. You would be surprised to know that my overwhelming strength, knowledge and exceptional abilities are the result of devotion to Lord Jinendra. His worship results in liberation and all auspicious acts are conducted effortlessly. Devotion to Lord Jinendra was part of traditions of my forefathers.I would carry his idol with me on my conquests.

Upon achieving knowledge as a result of meditation in Bheemvana, I constructed a Jina Mandir before I began building Swayamprabh Nagar. After I prayed to Sage Bali on Mount Kailash, I worshipped the Lord for a month in the Jina Mandirs on Kailash. I became so absorbed in the worship that I lost awareness of my body and started playing Veena with my veins as strings. I praised Jina Raj in my devotional prayers. I recall that the sentiments of my prayerwere “Lord, your devotion will deliver Moksha and Heaven and break the cycle of rebirth. Your worship ends all the misery in the world. You are always by my side in times of joy and sorrow like a true friend”.I was totally engrossed in worship when the throne of Nagaraj Dharanendra shook.

He came up to Mount Kailash to look for what had caused his throne to tremble. On seeing me he said that he was pleased by my praises to Lord Jinendra and wanted to grant me a wish. I replied, “O Lord Dharanendra, what could be nobler than Jin Bhkti (worship)? What can you grant me that can be more valuable than this”. Nagaraj said “Dashanana, you are sagacious and formidable. We have met for the cause of devotion. I grant you the power of Amoghvijaya as a token of remembrance of this meeting. You will acquire the ability to change your form as per your wish. Accept my affection and do not refuse this ability”. I accepted this to honour his word. I thus wanted to worship with complete devotion, faithfulness and selflessness.

Are you capable of such devoutness? Ignite within you the flame of Lord Jinendra’s devotion so much that the gods come to witness its brilliance and become mesmerized. You will become worthy of Moksha by liberation from Karma. Why do you burn me needlessly and sow the seeds of Kusanskara (evil traits)?Light the lamp of Bhakti within your conscience and inspired by spirit of liberation sow the seeds of Susanskara (virtuous traits).
